Albert\u2019s Living Room in the heart of Helsinki is a friendly meeting place for all generations. It\u2019s a great place for you to get to know other parents of young children while your little ones enjoy themselves and develop important social skills as they play and do things together. Welcome to Albert\u2019s Living Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Albert\u2019s Living Room (Albertin Olohuone <\/em>or Olkkari<\/em>, as it is lovingly known from the informal Finnish word for \u2018living room\u2019) is a cheerful hub where generations of people meet and chat about life over a free cup of coffee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as meeting other families, you will find our volunteers, who welcome every visitor, are always someone for you to talk to, and to play happily with your children. The Olkkari <\/em>welcomes all kinds of families, many of them from other countries, to get to know one another in Albert\u2019s Living Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Babies and toddlers love being together on the soft carpet of the play corner and exploring the toys. We also have a breast-feeding room, nappy changing facilities with nappies, and a kitchen equipped with utensils, a fridge, a microwave oven and highchairs. During the opening hours of Albert\u2019s Living Room, you too can have a romp in our little exercise room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u2019t need to book in advance. All you need to do is show up and you\u2019ll be warmly received. We operate in both Finnish and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are also welcome to join the Albert\u2019s Living Room Facebook-group Albertin Olohuone<\/a>, where we post information about any and all things Olkkari<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n <\/main>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Opening hours of Albert’s Living Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Albert\u2019s Living Room is on a Christmas break. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening hours for 2026:<\/strong>
Albert\u2019s Living Room will reopen after the Christmas break on 20 January 2026, and will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Albert\u2019s Living Room will be closed on Mondays and Fridays. During opening hours, all kinds of families\u2014speaking any language\u2014are warmly welcome to Olkkari.

<\/strong>To make Albert\u2019s Living Room as safe as possible we keep our premises and toys clean. You can only take part in our activities if you are symptom free.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/main>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

On maternity leave it can get lonely sometimes. Albert’s Living Room has become a really important place for us, where we can meet wonderful people of different ages. Family Befriend<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Would you like to share your life-with-children with another adult? You can apply for a family friend and get the kind of support that suits your family and life situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A family friend is a trained HelsinkiMissio volunteer who is there to support you in your parenting. With your family friend, you can do things together as a family or spend some time talking one-to-one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
