A Perhekaveri (Family Friend) helps at the New Children\u2019s Hospital and at Jorvi Hospital\u2019s Neonatal L2-Ward. During hospital visits, Perhekaveri can provide support and conversation for a parent or be around to keep a child happily occupied.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HelsinkiMission is one of the partners of the New Children\u2019s Hospital at HUS, alongside the New Children\u2019s Hospital Support Foundation, the Association of Friends of the University Children\u2019s Hospitals, the Hospital Clowns, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation. Together, we promote the overall well-being of the family when a child is ill.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n

Family Friend-volunteers helping families in the New Children\u2019s Hospital<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Perhekaveri (Family Friend) is a volunteer trained by HelsinkiMissio to bring a sense of normalcy to the hospital world. A Family Friend helps families who need to attend the New Children\u2019s Hospital<\/a> in Helsinki by making their time there as pleasant as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family Friends are available in the hospital lobby on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.<\/strong> Family Friends provide support and companionship to families also in the wards and in the play and youth activity areas. In addition, Family Friends are present at Jorvi Hospital in L2 Ward on Thursdays and if needed on the weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
